2020 was the year that changed everything. The world witnessed a lot of changes, from our way of living to the way that we work. Since restrictions and lockdowns went in place last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we observed a tremendous digital shift in the job market, remote working, e-learning, telemedicine, and delivery services.

This pandemic has mostly benefited the world’s digital platforms. A lot of digital platforms rose to the top and became very popular.

Education as well has changed dramatically, with the distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms, like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.

Web-conferencing systems took the lead, even though there is a wide range of them.

However, what we truly want to know is how did it affect the internet? We’ve been doing some research on digital trends that have been going on in 2020, and we’ve come to a conclusion about some new digital marketing trends that we think will rock the year!

Here are some of the latest digital marketing trends in 2021:

  1. Artificial Intelligence
  2. Programmatic Advertising
  3. Chatbots
  4. Voice Search & Smart Speakers
  5. Content Marketing
  6. SEO – Search Engine Optimization

Can we describe remote working as a win-win situation?

The ability of employees to complete their job tasks entirely from their homes helped the limit spread of coronavirus and at the same time protected public health.

However, apart from all the COVID-19 situations, remote working includes a large list of advantages that lead to increased productivity, work-life balance, and job satisfaction. Additionally, working remotely has had an effect on creating content at home and exploring our skills even more. Business owners should really consider it because its benefits are immense.

Check out below the main benefits of remote-working:

1) FEWER EXPENSES

Most companies while remote working see a positive effect on their business expenses. Working from home means less need for renting buildings and fewer expenses overall. It also helps the company in cutting their electricity costs. Employees as well end up saving a lot of money. Also, employee’s safety is better because they previously walked, took a bike, or traveled through busy areas.

2) HIGHER PRODUCTIVITY

Remote working prompts increased levels of organizational commitment and enthusiasm. While remote working, the employees tend to be more satisfied because they can be more flexible with their working schedule.

They also can take more frequent breaks from time-to-time, and build their work-life balance. Organizations will also concentrate on work done instead of working hours. Undoubtedly, with all of these advantages, work will reflect on higher productivity.

Employees are also better rested while working online because they don’t have to travel and get tired waiting in the bus or traffic. When they’re rested, it means more work is done. #ProductivityGoals

3) A TRUE TIME SAVER

Many people live in the city or in the countryside where traffic and distances can be real problems. Going from home to work or vice versa is almost guaranteed to take upwards of an hour. Not to mention that you’ll also get physically and mentally exhausted. Can you really imagine what a waste of time being stuck in the traffic truly is?

We no longer have to wake up two hours before our work starts and get ready, and then travel to the office. Now, we only need to change our clothes, or not, whatever you decide, and sit in a chair and start working. We no longer waste time preparing for work. Of course, we get to prepare for meetings if we have those over Zoom, Teams, or whatever platform that you and your work use

4) ONLINE MEETINGS

By working remotely, you’ll have to collaborate more than ever with your co-workers. Making sure that everything is going as it is supposed to, having online meetings and no need to go physically just for a meeting would be great. This also saves money for both the company and the meeting participants like clients or stakeholders.

Setting up an online meeting saves plenty of time and as we know time is money, so there’s no time to lose. In this situation, online meetings are easily accessible.

5) YOU CAN HIRE FREELANCERS

This is an obvious thing – we could do that even before the pandemic hit. However, now freelancers are everywhere, anytime. People are more willing to hire freelancers because they’re used to working remotely and they don’t find it hard or unproductive. In fact, they made that choice long before COVID-19 made it for us. This is a very good reason to search online and hire freelancers all around the world, depending on what you need.

There are a lot of different websites where you can find freelancers. You can also hire different companies, such as web-service companies, digital marketing, graphic design companies, finances, etc.

CONCLUSION

The COVID-19 pandemic has proven that we can work from home and do it effectively – without losing productivity. For most companies, having employees work outside the office will require inventing/reinventing many processes and policies. The question is will the benefits outweigh the flaws/disadvantages? Only time will tell.
